Learning Autobiography

I am passionate about my career as a release and program manager. I have actively studied subjects related to IT, program management, leadership, and release management for over past 14 years. I enjoyed working as a project-program manager for all these years and everyday was a new day for me to learn and gain new skills.

I was content for many years working as a project manager, release manager, and program manager as a consultant where I could be exposed to different size and type of projects. I enjoyed my career and work as a consultant in different business niche, but now I am looking to take my career to the next level and find myself a second home where I can devote myself to my new team and build a long terms career that let me focus on professional growth.I believe I have a gift for leadership and work with different individuals from different professional backgrounds was always my passion.

I started working as a project manager for business Image Management twelve years back where I learned to work with do diligent and offering a proven record of success leading all phase of diverse technology projects. I was engaged working closely with different end-clients to provide an excellent business strategies; plan and manage multimillion-dollar projects aligning business goals with technology solutions to drive process improvements, competitive advantage and bottom-line gains.

I joined Kaiser Permanent as a Project Manager lead through Computer Science Corporation (CSC). I was able to communicate effectively with client executives and their respective teams to leverage technical, business and financial acumen. Shortly after I joined Kaiser through CSC, my skills and expertise in release and change management became noticeable by another team. I joined this new team at Kaiser through Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and continue my work for few years. I was helping my team to managed ongoing efforts and releases. I was engage to support engineering, planning and implementation of all Epic Systems code components for KP HealthConnect major releases across all 8 regions and national environments. I have accomplished so much with this team and became versatile leader who's contributions in release management, client relationships and release product direction contributed to strong growth of the team in the horizontal as well as vertical focus areas. I leveraged my deep knowledge of release management, ITIL, and project management  to drive both internal and external resources and stakeholders.

I ended my work at Kaiser by implementing a fairly large size infrastructure project with over $6 million dollar budget and involved with different internal and external teams and resources. This project was under design phase when I joined the team. Like most of any IT project, I experienced some difficulties shortly after I joined this project. I was at Kaiser long enough and well familiar with the organization, work flow and also our IT infrastructure to recognized a very important key component to this scalability project which it was involved with Oracle Middleware got missed at initiation phase. I informed my immediate manager as well as all other stakeholders about the issue. I was able to successfully deployed and implemented the project without no delay and with slightly difference in our project budget.

I did last my employment for TCS at the client site Hewlett Packard, where my primary responsibility was mainly working in program level and provide support to existing teams and new affiliation of HP. I managed projects link to 450 applications with different backgrounds. These projects were involved releases, major upgrade and enhancing our IT infrastructure. As a program manager for BI team, I was also responsible to maintain our dashboard and provide reports to VPs by extracting and analyzing data from our existing databases and quarry.

Shortly after I left HP I joined Global Children’s Rights to help charity to build a new platform  base on AWS technology. I was supporting a non-profit organization as a consultant for 15 months. I saw working for charity as a privilege and great opportunity to stand for children and their rights. I helped charity to built new financial and investment platforms, as well as helping our business board members to lay out new programs for our different affiliation. I started working to form a solid PMO office for charity shortly after I joined, and now charity is going to be able to lunch and maintain new IT infrastructure. I was able to work closely with AWS team at Amazon to build and execute our new platform of Cloud Computing, providing on-demand self-service provisioning of virtual servers and middleware applications through an IT managed service catalog. Effort involved creation of new cost and support contract with Amazon support organization, multiple vendor negotiations, proof-of-technology, and financial accountability. I was also able to successfully outsourcing/managed services negotiation and implementation of technology support services to our business and marketing team in global level.

In my last position at McKesson, I supported my team and organization in both project and program level. My day to day effort supported our team to migrate our entire IT infrastructure from McKesson to Change Healthcare based on our M&A agreement. I managed projects with varying levels of complexity and identified and mitigated potential risks; developed requirements, managed change control, and tracked schedules and cost performance while ensuring project activities aligned with business objectives. As a program manager I work closely with my VP to plan the week ahead, provide information and deliverables to help him be more productive and effective, and get his advice on how to move the projects we are working on forward. During the week, I attended various executive meetings to keep a pulse on our business and help connect dots with others across the company. I also ensured we have clear action items and follow-up after the meetings. On a less frequent basis, I helped plan leadership events such as our annual executive offsite. I also coordinate our quarterly planning process OKR across the executive team.

Work enough as a project and program manager to know that there is always risk and issues involved with any project. I usually keep a Risk Log, created very early in the project as well as an Issue Log, created as soon as a risk event has occurred. I then move the risk item from the Risk Log to the Issue Log, maintaining a link between the two. This help me to track the Issue Log and connected to Risk Log for history/background. I do use the risk register created during Identify, Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Analysis processes with detailed "base" information, basically a thick literature about anything and everything about these items.

In personal level, I am very positive person and active, and enjoy working with individuals from different technical and cultural backgrounds. In my spare time I see myself engaged with community work, where I feel my work and passion can benefit our community directly or in-directly.
